I have worked for NOAA since 1989 as a Co-Op student. My background at NOAA started in Solar Radiometry, Observational Network Design and Installation, Field Deployment. Then I worked for the Profiler group for a few years doing Field Deployments.
In 1994 I started to work for the LIDAR Group Building Lidar Systems and Deploying them on Various platforms. I have worked on Doppler wind, Ozone, Water Vapor, Aerosol, Raman, Excimer, MOPA Lidar systems. Platforms include: Ships, Planes, Trucks, Ground Based, Sea Containers. My Favorites are NASA DC-8, 1942 DC-3, NOAA Twin Otter, DLR Falcon, NOAA RV Ronnald H Brown, NOAA RV Tommy Thompson, FLIP, and so many more...

I have designed a Direct Drive Servo Scanner (DDSS2), single axis for the lidars and it is getting support to expand its applications. We are adding a slip ring for a second rotational axis, very exciting.
