SHOUT 2016 Hurricane Rapid Response (HRR)
The final SHOUT dedicated campaign again studied the potential impact of observations from the NASA Global Hawk aircraft on forecasts of hurricanes and tropical storms. Nine highly successful flights were completed in August-October 2016, sampling four different named storms. Payloads included the Airborne Vertical Atmospheric Profiling System (AVAPS), the High Altitude MMIC Sounding Radiometer (HAMSR), and the High Altitude Wind and Rain Airborne Profiler (HIWRAP).
