CarbonTracker

View (CT2007)
CarbonTracker includes the following key components. An example and explanation of each product component is provided here.

  • Carbon Flux Maps
These pages give access to maps illustrating the estimated biological CO2 surface exchange for every week, month and year of CarbonTracker. The integrated totals of the maps shown are summarized in the added tables. Maps are available for North America, for the World's Oceans, and for the whole globe.
  • Carbon Flux Time Series
The figures on these pages illustrate the evolution of biological CO2 surface exchange in time. Estimated fluxes have been integrated to larger regions that represent relevant continents or ocean basins. Year-to-year variations can be seen in the supplied tables. The regions available correspond to those defined in the TransCom intercomparison project.
  • Carbon Weather
The Carbon Weather pages show our best guess of the distribution of CO2 in the atmosphere each day. This distribution is created using the CarbonTracker surface fluxes and the TM5 transport model. This product illustrates the evolution of atmospheric CO2 over time in great detail, hence the name "Carbon Weather". Maps are available for North America, or for the whole globe.
  • Time Series Comparison
Evaluation of the CarbonTracker calculated CO2 mole fractions against surface observations that were used in the system.
  • Product Evaluation
The product evaluation is separated into several categories:
