Dear GMAC Colleagues,

With the continuing spread of COVID-19 in the United States and globally, we have decided to cancel the in-person Global Monitoring Annual Conference (GMAC) scheduled for May 19th & 20th, 2020, in Boulder, Colorado. We realize this likely comes as no surprise to you, with travel restrictions going into place around the world and various nations, states, counties, and cities going under lockdown. Our collective global mission is important, but the people who carry it out are more so. Most importantly, we want everyone to stay healthy and practice social distancing in all that you do. You are our partners and we want to see you all at the GMAC in 2021.

We are considering various options for a more limited virtual meeting. Several possibilities exist and GMD staff are working on fleshing them out. We will inform you of our decision, which we hope to have refined within a month.

In our continuing effort to stay abreast of recent observations concerning trace gases, aerosols, radiation, ozone, and climate forcing and to provide a forum in which these observations can be relayed and discussed, we will be presenting the ESRL monitoring and research results of the past year. The meeting is not limited to ESRL reports and includes observations related to these themes by both independent and cooperative investigators, and other national and international programs. We welcome your active participation at this annual conference.

The 48th Global Monitoring Annual Conference will be held May 19-20, 2020 in Boulder, Colorado.

If you have any questions, email ESRL/GMAC Information.
