Abstract
Abstract: Historical information of coffee farming in Brazil will be reviewed and the relationship and awareness of farmers on weather/climate will be discussed. Past climatic extreme events and their impact on coffee production will also be discussed as well as the impact of slow climate variability on the geography of the coffee production an the influence on the development of new varieties. Climate change now poses new challenges to the coffee production and requires innovative actions.
