Part II. Coefficients of Variation of the Number of Days With Highly Reflective Clouds for Each Month

These maps use letters in grid squares to indicate coefficients of variation CV = standard deviation /mean x 100. Each of the 12 double-page maps represent data for 15 years of a given month. For example, the coefficients of variation on the January map were calculated from the data for every January in the period 1971-1985. The calculations used the normalized data presented in Part III.

Color code for letters on the maps in Part II
Letter Color Coefficient of variation (CV)
--------------------------------------------------
A          Black     CV < 25%
B          Black     25% <= CV < 50%
C          Green     50% <= CV < 75%
D          Blue      75% <= CV < 100%
E          Red       100% <= CV < 125%
   Not shown         CV >= 125%
