LTJG Ben Kaiser is originally from Rhode Island and graduated from Boston University in 2010 with degree in Marine Science. LTJG Kaiser joined the NOAA Commissioned Officer Corps in 2014 and was initially assigned to the NOAA Ship Oscar Dyson. While on board the Dyson, LTJG Kaiser was responsible for safe navigation of the vessel and performing a myriad of fisheries research operations. LTJG Kaiser is currently the station chief for the American Samoa, where he oversees the day-to-day operations, and will be rotating to become the South Pole Station Chief in late 2018. LTJG Kaiser hobbies include rock climbing, competitive swimming, scuba diving, and hiking.
