SNS originally operated from the University of Granada hostel near the Sierra Nevada ski area. Due to local contamination issues from the heating system at the hostel in winter, SNS only operated during the summer months. In 2019, University of Granada converted a historic astronomical building (Mojón del Trigo) near the hostel and ski area, but within the Sierra Nevada National Park, into an atmospheric observatory. The plan is make year round measurements starting in 2021. Rejano et al. (2020) reports on aerosol CCN, size distribution and black carbon measurements at SNS and UGR.

Atmospheric Properties

These plots are designed to provide a quick look at the measured aerosol properties. They display raw unedited data, but known corrections for instrument errors have been applied.
