Atmospheric chemistry of biomass burning related compounds as part of the laboratory component of NOAA's FIREX mission. The studies include measurement of the rate coefficients of the reactions with OH radical, Cl atom and recording the photolysis quantum yields, UV absorption cross sections to estimate the atmospheric lifetime of the concerned chemical compounds. Identification and measurement of yields of the reaction products are carried out for in-depth understanding of the reaction mechanism
Measurement of atmospheric lifetime, infrared spectra and Global Warming Potential (GWP) of perfluorinated compounds to assess their suitability as replacements of CFCs and Halon compounds.
