CMDL balloon sounding profiles

Three sets of diagrams were constructed for each balloon sounding.

• The stratospheric view gives temperature and water vapor from the frost point hygrometer in log P coordinates.
• The tropospheric view gives temperature, Vaisala relative humidity, specific humidity from the frost point hygrometer in linear P coordinates.
• The H2O profiles gives the combined Vaisala/frost point hygrometer profile used as the input h2o sounding for the LBL model. For the H2O profiles, "pluses" indicate the Vaisala RH data, "diamonds" indicate levels where Vaisala RH sounding filled a missing frost point hygrometer level, "triangles" indicate levels filled by interpolation and the solid curve indicates the final merged h2o sounding used for the LBL calculation.
• Profile data for 2002 is only preliminary. Raw sounding data was provided by CMDL without the QC measures applied to the 2000 and 2001 data.
