Mass: Doghouse

The Doghouse was a thick multiyear ice site with four thickness gauges and a water-level recorder. The water-level recorder was installed in an open hole drilled through the ice and was sheltered by the eponymous Doghouse. It was used to measure the hydrostatic equilibrium of the floe during the melt season. Changes in hydrostatic equilibrium represent integrated changes in the mass of the entire floe. There were four ablation stakes here, WRL1, WRL2, WRL3, and WRL4.
