Data directories

The snow and ice data files on this CD are in directory ICEDATA. This main directory has five primary subdirectories where data and metadata are stored. The directories, along with thumbnail descriptions of their contents, are listed below.

2 AERIAL - Data relating to helicopter survey and photography flights
2 Heloalb - Helicopter- based albedo measurements
2 KT19 - Helicopter- based surface temperature measurements
2 MASS - Data relating to mass balance studies
2 EM -  Electromagnetic induction surveys of ice thickness
       2 Gauge - Year-long data from 135 thickness gauge/ablation stake combinations
2 Pond - Observations of melt pond areal extent, depth, temperature, and salinity
2 Temper - Time series of ice temperature from thermistor strings at eight sites
