NIMBUS: Networked Information Management client-Based User Services
NIMBUS is a real-time data transport and processing system operating within the GSD Central Facility. The system is designed to meet the following requirements:
- acquire various heterogeneous data sets in real-time
- decode, process and store real-time data sets
- distribute sets to users in real-time
- support continuous (24 hours/day, 7 days/week) data services
- provide access to all data sets historically supported in GSD
The major elements of NIMBUS are shown schematically in the diagram below.
