Clarus Quality Control

The objective for this task is to implement all Clarus' Quality Control Algorithms in MADIS.

RWIS Contributor Role

  • Look at problem observations when notified by the MADIS team of QC failures.

Clarus Team Role

For each of the following Clarus quality control algorithms the Clarus team is responsible for:
  • Manual flag quality check
    • Provide C++ code for the algorithm
    • Verify that the manual flag output from the MADIS implementation matches the Clarus output.
  • Sensor range quality check
    • Provide C++ code for the algorithm
    • Provide all RWIS metadata to the MADIS team.
    • Verify that the sensor range output from the MADIS implementation matches the Clarus output.
  • Climate range quality check
    • Provide C++ code for the algorithm
    • Verify that the climate range output from the MADIS implementation matches the Clarus output.
  • Like instrument quality check
    • Provide C++ code for the algorithm
    • Provide step parameters by observation type.
    • Verify that the like instrument output from the MADIS implementation matches the Clarus output.
  • Persistence quality check
    • Provide C++ code for the algorithm
    • Provide persistence parameters by observation type.
    • Verify that the like instrument output from the MADIS implementation matches the Clarus output.
  • Interquartile Range Spatial (IQR) quality check
    • Provide C++ code for the algorithm
    • Provide IQR configuration by observation type.
    • Verify that the like instrument output from the MADIS implementation matches the Clarus output.
  • Barnes Spatial (IQR) quality check
    • Provide C++ code for the algorithm
    • Provide Barnes configuration by observation type.
    • Verify that the like instrument output from the MADIS implementation matches the Clarus output.
  • Dewpoint temperature quality check
    • Provide C++ code for the algorithm
    • Verify that the like instrument output from the MADIS implementation matches the Clarus output.
  • Rawinsonde sea level pressure quality check
    • Provide C++ code for the algorithm
    • Verify that the like instrument output from the MADIS implementation matches the Clarus output.
  • Precipitation accumulation quality check
    • Provide C++ code for the algorithm
    • Verify that the like instrument output from the MADIS implementation matches the Clarus output.
