Southeast Aerosol Study (SAS), a collaborative project among the National Science Foundation (NSF), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), and dozens of other domestic and international research institutions, is one of the largest North American air quality and climate studies in decades.

The NOAA P-3: A Flying Chemical Laboratory
Two of the world's premier research aircraft, the renowned NOAA WP-3D Orions, participate in a wide variety of national and international meteorological, oceanographic, and environmental research programs. These versatile turboprop aircraft are equipped with an unprecedented variety of scientific instrumentation, radars, and recording systems for both in-situ and remote sensing measurements of the atmosphere, the earth, and its environment.
