The WP-3D flew to southern California to study vertical and horizontal features of Los Angeles area emissions. As expected, very high levels of recent urban emissions were seen. The aircraft also performed a vertical profile at 123°W, 37°N.
Scientists and aircraft crew are grateful for the cooperation of Los Angeles area flight controllers for their assistance in the execution of this challenging flight.
