QuickLook Data
May 5, 2002 Takeoff- 18:30 Landing- 01:05
The WP-3D encountered polluted air masses from long range transport, as predicted by modelers. Sustained CO levels above 200 ppbv were seen beginning at approximately 23:00 and again at approximately 00:00. After takeoff, the aircraft made a latitudinal transect from 41 to 44°N at 125°W, then headed south. The aircraft then investigated the vertical and horizontal extent of the Asain outflow, and finally performed a vertical profile at at 123°W, 37°N. This was an exceptionally successful flight.
